For those who have been following our journey, we made it to our new hometown last night around 8 PM Mountain Time!!! We'll be here in Kemmerer, WY, for the next year or so. It's a small town in southwestern Wyoming, with a population of about 3000 and elevation of around 6950. Right now it's about 50 degrees and very dry, which is a very welcome change from the humid 80 degree weather we left in SC!
We are so thankful that God provided a place to stay here while we look for housing. The owner of this hotel is actually a member of Grace Baptist, and has generously provided a room for free as long as we need it! Other members of the church have also helped out with providing some meals for the next couple days. We're also enjoying the wildlife viewing area across the street - it's a great place to look for antelope!
Thank you so much to all who helped us get here, either through prayers or financial support or physical help.... or all of the above! Know that your individual contributions have been greatly appreciated and are a great comfort to us.
Our next priority is finding housing. There's not a lot available, but we do have a few places to check out. Our biggest concerns are finding something that will keep us warm during the cold snowy winters, something with enough space to minister to others through meals and fellowship times, and some outdoor space for the dog to run around. She has far too much energy to stay indoors all the time! :) We would appreciate your prayers for wisdom and God's provision as we look for a place to call home for the next year.
For the sake of His name,
James & Elizabeth Johnson
