A Steadfast Faith

May 2018

May has been a relatively quiet month for once, but we're making up for it on either side! Last month, we were able to attend a joint conference in Thayne, WY, with some of our regional mission pastors. We had a good time of worship and fellowship together, and some helpful breakout sessions on doing outreach in our small Western communities. We took copious notes, and look forward to implementing some of the ideas once we get to the field.

James also had a fruitful drill with the National Guard in both April and May. He was finally pinned as a Captain in April, and Elizabeth was able to participate in that ceremony. This month, he had the opportunity to share the gospel with 2 of his soldiers. Though many of them are from LDS backgrounds, a high percentage of them are actively seeking for something better. It is exciting to have opportunities to point them towards the truth!

On a more personal note, Elizabeth is still weaning off medications for the Wegener's. She has completely stopped taking one of them, and seems to be doing well. We will be meeting with her doctor later this month to confirm that, and discuss options for reducing other medications.

Looking towards June . . . we are preparing to help once again with VBS at Grace Baptist, including prepping sets and materials and getting ready to lead during each day's session. James is also planning to be gone for two weeks serving his soldiers on annual training. In addition, he will be resuming his role teaching our adult Sunday School class. It is going to be a busy month for both of us!

If we survive all of that, we're looking forward to having several more deputation meetings in July. We are praising God that someone has offered to provide the projector we need for these meetings! (If you're interested, we now have a meeting calendar set up.)

After July, we have a bit of a break. We are praying about when God would have us move to Cache County, but part of that depends on our support levels. Right now we're sitting around 20%. We are so thankful for everyone who already supports us, but would you pray with us for even greater provision?

We are very grateful for your faithful prayer support as we seek to obey God's leading!

For the Sake of His Name,
James & Elizabeth Johnson
