A Steadfast Faith

November 2017

We're finally off to start the deputation adventures!! We're heading to Massachusetts first, with a few stops along the way to see old friends. Lord willing, we'll get to Plymouth by next Wednesday and be there until mid-December. We're looking forward to seeing family, meeting new-to-us church family, and sharing our ministry with believers in the Plymouth area!

While we're looking forward to what lies ahead, we also want to look behind for a moment. These past 18 months in Kemmerer have been full and wonderful, and we are leaving a part of our hearts here as we move on to the next chapter! We've both enjoyed having opportunities to "spread our wings" in ministry, learning from and working alongside the Hartmans; and the people of Grace Baptist have become like a second family to us, teaching us and enriching our lives in so many ways. It has been a privilege to worship and serve together with them, and we look forward to keeping Kemmerer as our "home base" until the Lord moves us on to Cache County, Utah.

We also want to say a big THANK YOU to those who are helping us financially! We now have three churches who have committed to supporting us on an ongoing basis--putting our support level around 20%--and several individuals who have given generous gifts in preparation for our deputation/travel expenses. God is providing for our needs, dollar by dollar, through your willingness to serve Him with your resources--and for that we are very grateful!

We also very much appreciate those who support us with prayer: we couldn't travel this missionary journey without you! God is using your prayers to accomplish His good purposes for us and for this area of the West. Knowing you are praying gives us comfort; and knowing God is working through your prayers gives us encouragement to keep striving for the sake of the gospel.

With that, here are a few requests for the next months:

  • fruitful meetings at the churches in Plymouth
  • safety, energy, and good health as we travel
  • provision of full-time financial support
  • God to be working in Cache County even now
  • team members to commit to laboring with us in Utah

We so very much appreciate your support!

For the Sake of His Name,
James & Elizabeth Johnson
