Thank you all for your prayers in our travels to see Elizabeth's mom and one of our supporting churches. It was good to spend some time helping Elizabeth's mom and just spending time together. We were also blessed to visit Plymouth Rock Bible Church, where James was able to preach for the Sunday morning service and to give a brief update on the ministry here in Wyoming. We count Pastor Farnsworth and his wife as friends and faithful fellow laborers in the Gospel.
While we were away, the seasons abruptly changed, and Kemmerer got its first snowfall of the season. We came home to colder temperatures, which was a big change from the nearly 80-degree weather when we left home and the mid-70s we had in Plymouth. Since we have been home, we've gotten another 7-plus inches from several storms, though most of it has melted off. We are grateful for the moisture and how it continually reminds us that God provides for our needs, even the ones we take for granted.
It has been busy since we returned from our trip, both with the normal pace of ministering in two towns along with medical appointments for both of us. We took a bit of a physical toll from the normal stressors of traveling, but Elizabeth's recent blood work revealed that she also needs another infusion to keep her immune system sufficiently suppressed and keep the Wegener's in remission. Please pray with us as she has that infusion this week, that it would be effective and that her strength would rebound more quickly than expected. Pray also for James and his strength, as he helps her and as he does what he can to make up for all she does to keep our household going and in ministry.
Elizabeth's infusion may put a damper on Christmas programs as we begin preparing for those. In Kemmerer, Pastor Hartman can play the piano; but Cokeville may have an a cappella Christmas service, if Elizabeth's strength has not returned enough to play. It is also the time of year for Thanksgiving events, and we are looking forward to our annual Pie & Praise fellowship on the 26th of November. Please pray that we will have visitors for this event, as we have had the past few years, and that some will continue to come for regular church and Bible Study.
We are especially in need of more help in Cokeville, not only to fill in gaps when our health is weak, but also so to start a children's ministry. Please be praying with us that God would provide some team members to help in this beautiful, but spiritually dark, area of our nation.
Additionally, be in prayer for those who have heard the Gospel in Cokeville (especially BR, RT, J&C, R&R, B). James finished the series on John 3 while we were away, via a pre-recorded sermon, and each of those messages made clear the people's need for God to save them. Since our return, he has started an extended series going through the Sermon on the Mount. Pray that those who are religious and trusting in their own self-righteousness will be confronted with the impossiblity of living up to the commands in Matthew 5-7.
We value your support and especially your faithful prayers, and trust that God is working through them even when we can't see what He is doing.
